During August 2020 Eat Out to Help Out restaurants have become widespread up and down the country, so you’re sure to be able to find a local cafe’s, bars, and restaurants participating in the government initiative to get people spending in the hospitality sector. There are plenty of smaller independent places have signed up to the initiative, so that whatever you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find the perfect spot for a cheap bite to eat in August.
In July 2020 the UK government announced the Eat Out to Help Out restaurants scheme as an initiative to boost sales and secure jobs in teh hospitality sector. The initiative encourages Places to eat in, such as bars, cafes and restaurants to sign up for the Eat out to help out scheme which then means they can offer diners up to 50% off their bill.
For consumer, this means we are all able to use government-issued vouchers to get up to £10 off a meal in a café, restaurant or bar during the whole of August when eating out on a Monday, Tuesday or a Wednesday. If £10 equates for less than half of anyone diner’s bill, the customer will be required to pay the remaining balance, but households can dine out together using a voucher per head.
